The most important Extension activity through which the institution serves the community is NSS. RTM Nagpur University has granted a unit of 150 volunteers to the institution. The convenor and Programme officer of the NSS unit of Dr. M. K. Umathe Arts, Science and R.Mokhare Commerce College is Dr. Dilip Sukhdeve and Prof. Sameer Naim is a Co-convenor. The motto of NSS is “ Not me But you”. The main objectives of N.S.S. are as follows :
- To bridge the gulf between the educated and the uneducated masses.
- To develop a sense of social responsibilities among students.
- To encourage them to work with and among society.
- To identify the needs and problem of the community and involve them in problem-solving.
- To engage students in creative and constructive social work.
- To imbibe good qualities and values among them.
- To mould the characters of the students in order to transform them into the responsible citizens of the nation.
- To engage them in creative and constructive social work.
- To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
Incentive Marks Scheme ( Senior College) :
As per Ordinance No. 2 of 1996, amend Ordinance No.19 of 1998 and 1 of 2010 of RTM Nagpur University credit marks as an incentive to the students participating in the N.S.S. students who actively participated in NSS activities are eligible for incentive marks. The NSS unit of the institution organizes 7 day college level residential camps in remote villages every year. The institution has recently organized a state level camp at Paradshinga, Katol.
